About
Gloria Burca is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music in Viola/Violin Music Performance and Pedagogy. Gloria is currently teaching music classes, private lessons, performing with orchestras and events throughout the Chicago area.
Gloria started playing violin at the age of 7, and picked up the viola additionally at the age of 15. During the years, Gloria has participated in many different music programs such as Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Music Institute of Chicago Academy, Chicago Youth Music Festival Orchestra, and Bowdoin International Music Festival. Gloria has studied with Cyrus Forough, Alias and Roxanna Goldstein, SangMee Lee, Desiree Ruhstrat, and Stephen Wyrczynski. Gloria has toured with orchestras throughout Europe the summer of 2012 performing various styles of music. At the age of 17, Gloria won the DePaul Concerto Competition and debuted with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2018, Gloria has been an instructor at Logos Christian Academy - teaching high school music theory classes and directing the elementary choir & string ensembles. Gloria additionally was on staff as an instructor at Veritas Music & Learning Center and Classic Violins Music Shop.
Gloria is the founder and music instructor of Miss Glo's Music Studio - established in 2018. She has been teaching privately one-on-one music lessons (violin, viola, cello, piano, and ukulele), hosting yearly recitals, and competition preparations. Gloria has been teaching students privately since 2008, starting from 3 years old to 70. Her teaching method focuses on teaching all styles of music, music theory, improvisation, genres, and composition as well. Gloria studied the Alexander Technique during her undergraduate studies and applies the relaxing and natural technique to every lesson.

Gloria’s goal with every student is to help each student discover a love for music and to find the style of music that appeals to them as they discover the musical world.
Gloria currently continues to perform with orchestras throughout the Chicagoland area, performing at Farmers Markets, Food Truck Festivals, and various events.
After releasing her first EP on music streaming platforms in 2017, Gloria is currently producing and composing to release music later this year. Gloria has a passion for creating and producing music since 2016.
Gloria's hobbies include paddle boarding, propagating plants, creating music, going on adventures, and reading.
